Savi Melody Replacement: The 1.5 Inch LED We Recommend for SAVI-MELODY-100 and SAVI-MELODY-150
The Savi Melody was a popular 1.5 inch nicheless color LED pool light made by Next Step Products, and it has been discontinued. If yours has failed, you will find it labeled as either SAVI-MELODY-100 or SAVI-MELODY-150. The light we recommend as a replacement is our 1.5 inch LED for Pentair GloBrite. It threads into the same 1.5 inch fitting, runs on the same 12VAC transformer, and comes in the same 100 and 150 foot cable lengths.

How to read your Savi Melody label
The label on the body of the light lists both models with a box checked for yours:
- SAVI-MELODY-100: 12VAC, 1.5A max, 100 foot cable
- SAVI-MELODY-150: 12VAC, 1.5A max, 150 foot cable

The label also says to use only power supply model PX100 or PX300. Those are 100 watt and 300 watt 12 volt pool and spa transformers. That is all the Savi Melody needed: there was no separate controller, and you changed colors by switching the light off and back on.
Why we recommend our GloBrite style 1.5 inch light
- Same threaded fit. The Savi Melody screws into a standard 1.5 inch threaded wall fitting. Our GloBrite style replacement comes with threads for standard 1.5 inch threaded fittings, so it screws into the same fitting your Savi came out of. No new fitting and no modification.
- Same 12VAC power. It runs on 12VAC, so you keep your existing PX100 or PX300 transformer. No rewiring.
- Same cable lengths. Choose 100 foot to match a SAVI-MELODY-100 or 150 foot to match a SAVI-MELODY-150. A 50 foot option is also available, and any extra cable can be coiled at the junction box.
- Same way to change colors. With no automation, you change colors by toggling your existing on/off switch, just like the Savi. It also works with Pentair automation if you add it later.

12W Standard or 30W High Output
The Savi Melody drew up to 1.5 amps at 12 volts. Our 12W Standard is the closest match for a like for like swap. Our 30W High Output is the choice if you want a noticeably brighter pool, especially with one light covering a large area. If you are running several 30W lights on one transformer, add up the wattage and make sure it stays within your transformer's rating (100 watts for a PX100, 300 watts for a PX300).

Swapping out a Savi Melody
- Turn off power to the light circuit at the breaker.
- Unscrew the Savi Melody from the wall fitting and pull it up onto the deck on its cable.
- Disconnect it at the junction box.
- Feed the new light's cable back through the conduit to the junction box.
- Screw the new light into the 1.5 inch threaded fitting until it is snug.
- Connect it at the junction box to the same 12VAC leads, turn the power back on, and toggle the switch to step through the colors.
The pool does not need to be drained. Our guide on replacing a pool light without draining the pool covers the process in more detail.
If you have more than one Savi Melody on the same switch, replace all of them. Our light uses its own color sequence, so mixing it with remaining Savi lights on one circuit will leave them showing different colors.
